I really love me a bargain. My beauty trove contains a pretty fair amount of both high end products and more affordable brands. When I run into Walgreens for a package of pull-ups, I can't resist a quick stroll down the beauty aisle. Drug store brands have some fantastic options. One of my fav summer lippies of all time is Dashing Raspberry by Rimmel, and retails for about $5.99. It's a highly pigmented fuchsia that looks fantastic with a tan, and the Moisture Renew formula is super creamy, and feels great on the skin.
Now that my skin is maturing, I've learned that one area I definitely don't skimp on is my eye color. Drug store brands generally produce a lower color load (about 40% less!) than premium makeup brands when it comes to eye shadows. What that means for us older gals is that the filler material sinks into the fine lines on our lid and around our socket, highlighting these flaws. So I tend to stick to the lip products when I'm feeling a twitch for some drug store newness.
